Beta Access is an overlay on Free, Standard, or Max. It does not replace the base plan; it adds the experimental Managed Research surface on top of the plan’s included usage and run limits. Private launch promos and make-good grants are separate from the base plan. They appear in the organization’s usage and billing surfaces only when granted. If you need recurring or scheduled work, contact Synth so we can scope it against your plan, Beta Access state, and resource limits.

directed_effort and lite are available across authenticated Managed Research tiers. Standard and Max add paid GA model bundles and higher included usage windows; Beta Access adds the deeper experimental modes and models.

Programmatic access

Use smr_get_billing_entitlements to check whether the organization has the Beta Access assets:
  • smr_open_ended_discovery
  • smr_heavy_preset
  • smr_all_models
Run-start preflight remains authoritative. If a requested preset, work mode, or model requires Beta Access, preflight returns a structured capability denial.
